Greetings,

My apologies, I wasn't sure if this should go here or in "Audio and Video file formats". Please correct me and lead me to the right way if I'm wrong.

I'd like to extract files for "State of Emergency" for PC. Particularly SFX and audio files. Maybe even visual stuff like ingame marker indicators that I think were sabotaged in this port compared to the PS2 version but that's a lower priority for me. A lot of sounds are severely lowered in volume compared to the PS2 version like punch, kick and grunt sounds. I'd like to make them louder and put them back into the game. I've only been able to mod the game music which were more obvious since they're in .wma format.

This is a Rockstar published game from 2002-2003 but the PC version was published by Global Star Software and developed by VIS Entertainment. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/State_of_Emergency_(video_game)
https://www.pcgamingwiki.com/wiki/State_of_Emergency (Mentions "Wide Games" as a developer)

I did a search for similar games based on the info above and similar filename extension stuff but I didn't see much consistency unless I'm missing it. I'm not sure how to proceed and would like some guidance if possible.

I've attached screenshots of what some of the game installation folder looks like and also the contents of the game disc that's run on an optical drive or mounted on a virtual drive to see if that gives a better scope on the direction to take. My best bet is that what I'm looking for is within "State of Emergency\Maps\Audio" or "State of Emergency\Maps\Audio\Banks" but i'm not completely sure nor how to unpack if I'm right.

(Note: Idk if Global Star Software used to be called "Gathering" since the initial installation folder is called "Gathering" and then the folder inside is "State of Emergency")

Send all the file off the Banks directory here. Zip them all and use something like google drive to upload it.

Ok, here it is: https://www.mediafire.com/file/z7qurjggo1r52qh/State_of_Emergency_PC_Audio_folder.rar/file

What about the 5 .dat files and .bin file in the "Audio" folder next to that "Banks" folder?

I decided that I want to make fixes to the Xbox version as well, in fact I have more interest in the Xbox version out of the two since it seems to be a better port overall. These are files for the Xbox port. It's similar to the PC files:

Wanted to check up on this.

Also, is there anything I could do on my end? I don't mind studying or learning something. I have a hex editor and potentially some other stuff. Maybe I could put some of the effort in.

Also I don't really care about the PC version anymore if it loosens things up. Just the Xbox version.
