Hi there.

So, I found that a game called Armello has similar animations to what Hearthstone has, but it's animated in different ways (Hearthstone combines 3 or 4 different .dds files with different layers).. I've uploaded 3 examples here: https://www.dropbox.com/sh/biygvp89uawc ... nUHBa?dl=0

The "Card_MAG14-2048x1536-0" file, for some reason, I cannot open with my .dds viewer OR with photoshop (usually photoshop opens all .dds), so if some1 can try to open that file, or maybe see why it doesn't want to open, then that'd be great.

Secondly: The animation... This game (armello) uses a 'tiled-animation' technique that I've seen in other games, but never been able to find a program or method to actually bring the animations to life... The animations work similar to how a .gif works, as it is basically a bunch of still images, and the game then stitches those still images together, to form an animation. Please look at the 2 files "Card_TRK" and tell me if there is any program or method that can be used to turn those .dds files into a usable .avi or .mp4 or anything like that.

I was bored and randomly looked.

The mag dds seems encrypted/xorred/compressed(?) or something very different and raw view of potential DXT data is also all messed up.

As for the 2 animations, they only require to cut out individual frames which you can then turn into a gif or video file if you so desire.
Irfanview for example is convenient cut tool for beginner to do this combined with any encoding tool for desired output (gif,mp4 etc).

I have no idea what use you'd have for these honestly outside of the game.
