Hello everyone,

I am new here, and I have one problem.
I am trying to extract .wb files from game Lord of the Rings: War in the North, so I am curious is there way to extract those files?

I have tried to open it with HxD to determine those 4 bytes, and this is look in HxD: http://postimg.org/image/u9alyks2r/full/
I tried to search for scrip, but I wasn't sucessful. :(
So is there is some way to open those files with current version with QuickBMS?
Also if answer is negative, what should I do, or where should I search for answer.
I don't want to sound rude or ungrateful, but I really need answer asap, I am in very delicate situation. xD
So any answer is of big help. :)

I tried to attach file but some error occur, so here is download link : http://www.megafileupload.com/mo25/dx_elmund_eng.s2.wb

Best Regards,

Veljas

I did some magic :D
Script 0.2:
http://aluigi.org/bms/lord_rings_paq.bms

Basically this is a PAQ archive containing a particular audio archive, so WB is an archive containing other archives.

You are certainly magician. :ugeek: :) I have just done some extraction! ;)
Thank you very much aluigi! You saved me of trouble, and this is probably now only place on net where answer about .wb files (from game Lotr: War in the North) extraction exists. :)
Also thank you for such fast reply man, I didn't expect so fast answer! I really appreciate your effort and good will! It is such rare attribute nowadays! :)

I am a totally new in modding of some games (for my personal usage, nothing net wide etc), so I really don't know anything about file types etc. But I am trying to learn. :)
I am trying to find some sounds and models from this War in the North game, so your answer is my salvation. :D

P.S. As you have replied to me about sounds, I would dare just to question you something which isn't concerning audio files, but it is about this game.
For this game you have also wrote script for extraction of PAQ archive viewtopic.php?f=9&t=758#p10304 (I have posted on that topic my comment as last one)
And it works perfectly, but I am also need to know how to open (or extract) those DAT files I get when I extract PAQ achive. I am very interested to see 3D models in game of heroes, armor, weapons, buildings and similar. Is that possible to do with current version with QuickBMS? Is there maybe some script which allows this? (I am noob so there is big probability that I missed that script xD) Or I need some other program to do that? Any answer is highly appreciated! 8-) My intention for now is only to see those models (as that picture on fist comment on that topic).
Big thanks!

Veljas

For those DAT files you can try to take a look at them with a hex editor but I highly doubt you will find something useful, quickbms automatically assigns an extension if it finds known formats and DAT is used in case of failure.
Maybe someone else interested in this game will give you a reply.
