We've already got exporters and unpackers and such for the basic Dark Souls, the first game primarily, but no one seems to be putting any research into finding out the method of unpacking the files from Scholar of the First Sin. I have a few examples here, and only one of them properly unpacks with any former methods. The models and textures are contained in these files, and I'd like to be able to extract/convert both.

Try version 0.2.1:
http://aluigi.org/bms/dark_soul.bms

It doesn't work with the files over c1021* because they contain no header, they are just raw data and, in my opinion, they are corrupt because they have no sense (c1021.textbnd starts will a string from the middle).

Well crap...that means the base file didn't extract properly. I dunno if I'll be able to upload it entirely. I'll certainly try though.

EDIT: The file is over 12 GB and I only have 7 GB on my Dropbox. Is there any way I can get it to you?

Do you mean that you used dark_soul.bms on the original big archive and you got those corrupted c1021* files?

Use the filecutter.bms script instead of giving us the whole file.

Not a surprise, that bhd file is all encrypted/obfuscated. It's the first time I see that.

So, how you extracted the files you posted before?

Using the modified Binder Tool here(11th post, darksouls2_texttool.7z) : viewtopic.php?f=12&t=1933

I was able unpack the SotFS game files, however I don't think all of them were correctly extracted.
I compared the same text files from DS2 and SotFS, m10_02_00_00.fmg under menu/text/english/bloodmes
DS2 version has readable text in it wheras SotFS version has some random garbage

But not all text files are garbage but only some of them.
So it's clear that the extractor needs some tweaking in order to work properly.

I'm most concerned about model files, but any progress is good! I'll see what this can do.

Edit: Doesn't seem to work either, all bnd files are still broken.

Well I know nothing about file compression and encryption :/
I just translate things and do the occasional C programming.

It's okay. I'm sure someone here can figure it out. Thanks for your help as is.

Sorry to bump, but does anyone have any ideas how I could share the 12 GB file somehow so we can get work done on it? I really want to work this out.

I mean the fastest way to download it is to own the game on Steam.
The second fastest way is to download from a torrent.

Well I suppose the only method I can think of that would be legit would be to buy the one willing to research it, the game on steam...wonder if aluigi would be willing to take on the job.
