Hello everyone, I'm asking if someone could write a script to extract this packfile.dat please? The game stores the sounds in this archive.

Samples: (expired)

Thanks in advance.

Thanks for the script, it works. It extracts 72% of the archive, is it normal?

The files have a big alignment so lot of space gets unused.

Oh, ok. It seems the sounds of this game have a sample rate of 16kHz. Is this really serious?

HD standards of 2010 I guess :) Are you sure it wasn't the 3DS version? :D

No, it's the PS2 version. This game came out in 2010, but only on PS2, Wii and PC (not on PS3 & XB360). PC uses 44.1kHz, it's very weird.

Are you sure yours isn't a rip?
That would have sense, 44.1 -> 16 with tons of zeroes left that will be heavily compressed for the release.

The Scooby-Doo First Frights game (also developed by Torus Games) uses 22.05kHz on PS2. For 2009, it's bad...

Ok, after some checks, I can definetely say that the music on the PS2 version is 8kHz! This is the first time I see this.

8 kHz tracks

The sampling rate used in the game is a joke. I mean, it's 2010 already, why would they feel like encoding audio files in low quality is a good idea?

If you watch PS2 walkthroughs, you can hear the game audio compressed.

I watched it and I couldn`t even believe what I just heard. You were right, after all not even good audio design can save bad audio quality.

Hello everybody! I know this posts is old but I am also working with this stuff, I want to do a translation into Spanish but it is my first time and I am not quite sure how it is done, my idea is to convert the ps2 audios Spanish into audios with the same format, codec, frequency and etc of the audios from pc but ps2 audio extraction programs cannot extract the audios correctly, they are heard cut, mixed and in some cases accelerated, although the latter was due to its frequency. And the other problem I have is regarding the files in the sound folder of the pc version, they are all in raw format but many of them I cannot reproduce, VLC says that I do not have the correct codec and I really do not know how find it or if I really need a codec, I have used your script but being my first time I do not understand what I have to do with the resulting dat and max files, thanks in advance :D :D :D

In the sound folder there is arround 8.000 audio files (all in raw)
The files start with 2 key letters and continue with more letters or numbers
For example when I play a file and that file start with "SC" all the audios that start with SC cannot be played but if one file start with "Bo" for example and I can play it all the audios that start with Bo, I hope it is understood

No playable:
https://www.mediafire.com/file/2ecwmyen ... 4.raw/file

Playable:
https://www.mediafire.com/file/o0duqi9x ... a.raw/file

THX!!
