I have this game, decrypted.
I want to translate it, but so far I am stuck.

I cannot make any sense of the game archives.

I can provide the files if needed, maybe the screenshots are enough?

I cannot see anything about UFFA or HPK.
Actually, when I searched, HPK is used in Tropico (pc game), but that is a coincidence I assume.
Tropico has .hpk - this is .bin. I tried the tropico 3/4/5 tool and no luck.

Any information?

Thank you so much for all the help to the users on this forum.

Yes, upload some files.
If the archive is very big you can use the filecutter script on it and upload the 2 generated files.

Thank you for looking!

There are 4 data files in total for this game:

bgm.bin = 83mb
data3d.bin = 118mb
data.bin = 73mb
common.bin = 5mb

I am not interested in the 3d models or the sounds - so I have provided only data.bin and common.bin.

Here you can download the two files - https://mega.nz/#F!SsIxwagZ!s9m1eI7c9QzkoN8cp7v5eA

Let me know if there is anything I can do to assist you, I am am very serious about translating the game.

Thanks

The files extracted from data.bin are just HPK so it's enough to run the script on each one of them to extract them.
I avoided to make an automatic extraction of the sub-archive or reimporting wasn't possible (you said that your goal is translation).

aluigi - thank you so much!

You say 'just hpk', so this is not a strange format?
You think it is the same as Tropico? (I don't know the game but it's the only thing I found when I searched)

I see you discovered the UFFA header uses lzss, you did it simple by looking?
viewtopic.php?f=4&t=27
Even after identifying the compression used, I can't understand how to figure out where the size, offset... etc are stored.

I'm interested to understand how you did this, but for the moment I am just very thankful.

Also -- by editing the bms script, I can repack the game?
Or is quickbms only for extracting?

HPK is a simple format but I don't know if other games use it.
I doubt it's the same format of Tropico 3, different developers, platforms and so on.

For the UFFA compression I simply guessed (the initial 0xff), tried and checked the result. Luckily it was correct at the first try :)

You will learn how to figure all the fields in archive formats with time and practice.

For the "editing" you can use the reimporting feature of quickbms which is explained in detail in section 3 of the manual:
