Ah ok, by reading your first post it looked like you just left the extracted files in the game folder, there was no mention to the reimport method.

Anyway quickbms doesn't allow you to reimport files that are bigger than the original so if you have reimported them it means you ignored the warning displayed by the tool and forced the reimporting, which is bad.
Just for curiosity, have you tried to reimport only one edited file that has the same/smaller size than the original?

The format seems very simple, maybe someone will like to make a rebuilder.
