I have successfully exported all of the PSO2 voice files with help from a list that told me where they were all located. However, the files have changed from IceV4 files to ASF2 files. All of the files I have taken out from the ASF2 come in .DAT format which I believe can be extracted from its true contents. I tried running these files through audio applications like VLC and Audacity however to no avail. I was wondering if anyone could help me extract the contents from within the .DAT

Get the latest vgmstream and rename the extension from .dat to .hca

You can also use vgmstreams test.exe to convert them into .wav files

That didn't seem to work for me, I believe because of the .HCA's being encrypted. When I tried to run it through HCA_Decode v1.16 it asked for a decryption key. However, I do not have the encryption key for these files and don't know how to get them. Did the sound file work for you when you tried the VGMstream method?

Edit: When running it through HCA_Decode v1.12 some files came out fine while other files had errors. About 700 of the 1500 came out correctly.

It worked for me with the sample you provided. I literally just renamed it to .hca and it played back just fine.

Phantasy Star Online 2 has used two encryption keys

CC55463930DBE1AB is the newer one
30DBE1ABCC554639 is the old one

Yea, I noticed that some worked while others didn't I am unsure why the other files aren't converting correctly. The new files I provided are one of the ones that have the conversion and playback issue.

You've got to strip the first 0x16 bytes (all those 00s at the beginning of the file)

The first byte should start with "C8" :)

Worked like a charm and I even found and extracted the other character voices. Thank you for the help!
