I stumbled upon some .F files and I don't know how to extract. I was wondering if I could get some help extracting the contents.

Some of those *.f files are "BRES", while others are "GCBF", some are ZIP (3586546606.f) and others don't even have a magic (1738890473.f)... it's a mess.

I have made a script for GCBF:

BRES is a known format (with various variants), as far as I remember.

There's an error of the gcbf script. First of all, it works perfectly for converting all the .f files. However, I would beg if you could please fix the error where I could not even reimport the file, don't get me wrong I've reimported many files before and I know how but this script is a defection. Please fix the error.

You are right, the script is not valid for reimporting because it uses MEMORY_FILEs, for a reason (file extension guessing).

I have updated the script but you have lost the "extension guessing", now all the extracted files will have a generic ".dat" extension and if you want to reimport them you have to change the extension of your edited files to .dat first (otherwise you have to re-extract and re-edit them again).

Games support uncompressed files, you don't have to re-compress, Car Tycoon has A LOT of of these, proving my theory.
