Don't worry if you find a possible duplicate file during the extraction, in fact the script automatically decompresses the lz files on the fly and the archive STAGEMNG_T.dat has the same file in both compressed and uncompressed version:
02a6f398 507304 t31_00.nmdp
02aeb158 224401 t31_00.nmdp.lz
The small battle_map.dat doesn't contain data, that's why the script will fail.
