Hi guys! I'm working on model-import script for this game The Lord of the Rings: War in the North, unfortunately I faced some problems with file extraction. Game archives has .paq extension, there's a BMS script to extract them, though it's not finished, so it's making process of format reversing more harder. Maybe someone could take a look and try to improve or finish it? Thanks in advance

Attached BMS script with sample .paq here https://www.sendspace.com/file/uek93g

I have written the script from scratch because I wanted to understand this strange format:
http://aluigi.org/papers/bms/others/lord_rings_paq.bms

The only known format of those extracted files are those in the scripts folder, they are just compiled lua with 4 bytes at their beginning (the script automatically removes these 4 bytes).

Hi, people! Tell me, please, is it possible at all to extract 3D models from The Lord of the Rings: War in the North through this BMS tool and the corresponding script? I want to try editing models just for my own practice in modding and 3D and especially interesting in this beautiful buildings I've found in this game. How to extract 3D content from the game archives and import in in any 3D modeling program, convert it to OBJ etc? Has someone here on in any other place tried to do it and what were the results?

UPD^

I managed at last to unpack these PAQ archives and I got their inner content with a proper script lord_rings_paq.bms. But all files I need have the extension .dat and I tried many other dat scripts from Quick BMS but no one works, it seems. If here are some wise programmers, able to open these files with a proper HEX Editor (I cannot do it, what a pity), maybe somebody will have a look and try to extract real 3D model files from these DAT files? I attach one of such folders with .dat files - it contains many subfolders, full of 3D content (and more).Download it from here, if you are interested in that - http://nekaka.com/d/4gP3vpyrFB

This game was made on the Dark Alliance engine and I hope this DAT format doesn't differ very much from file formats used in other games made on that engine. These were Baldur's Gate Dark Alliance, some Fallout game etc - see full list -https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Snowblind_Studios_game_engine
Maybe there're some extractors made for these games and they may work on these DAT files?

I need a script able to open DAT files in the game The Lord of the Rings: War in the North. One may get these files after unpacking PAQ archives of the game with Quick BMS and its script for .paq files. All these files contains 3D models and have .dat extension. But I cannot find any possible conveter and extractor for these files and no other script from the script set for Quick BMS is working for them. Below I attach one of such folders with .dat files - it contains many subfolders, full of 3D content (and more).Download it from here, if you are interested in that - http://nekaka.com/d/4gP3vpyrFB
If someone can provide such a script, I would be very grateful to him.

Thanks in advance
