Hi guys! Thanks for this forum community. Lots of useful information here. I'm trying to open up some race tracks in the XBox game RalliSport Challenge 2. Following info in another thread on the forum (here) I was able to use QuickBMS to successfully extract the compressed .FA file for the track, and the subsequent .RES file that contains what appears to be all the geo, texture, and shading data.

From there i've hit a wall though and am hoping for some additional help getting me pointed in the right direction. Here's a small sampling of some of the files that came out of the extracted .FA and .RES file for a particular track (australia_CO1):
https://www.dropbox.com/s/u8q6imdpvwpa7me/RSC2_track_file_samples.zip?dl=0

Contents described below:
mesh folder - a series of .dat files that exist in the mesh folder of the track. Are these actual geometry files, or another layer of archive or library?
objects folder - a series of files from the game's object folder. For most objects (but not all) there exists both an extensionless file and a .MESH file. I've been unable to open either of them. Any pointers or suggestions there?
textures folder - a few sample files, all of which are extensionless. Any idea what kind of filetype they might actually be?

I'm a 3D artist but not so much a programmer, so I've had a tough time making heads or tails of these files in a HEX editor. I'd greatly appreciate any input if you guys have a chance to take a look! Thanks a ton.

Hello again, I'm still interested in figuring how to access these .dat files, especially if they contain 3D mesh data.
If anybody is able to take a look and tell me what they think, I'd greatly appreciate it. Thank you!!
