Hi everybody,

Just a little question about PCM Voices Data on DUNE Mega CD.

I would like to know, if someone can make a script only to extract PCM Voices Data from "DUNE.DAT".

https://we.tl/t-erHJNnxQ72

I'm myself able to extract the data but it's in a raw data not a the right tone.
So it's pretty unusable in this state.

Thanks !

That's not raw PCM audio or it would be easily imported in Audacity (both 8 and 16bit fail)

Another game that's probably impossible to rip. We need a miracle.

Once you have the codec, offset, size, channels and frequency you can dump everything correctly.

DUNE.DAT has no tables or information about the archived files.
This index is located somewhere else.

Here is the Mega CD full ISO (152 mo only) (the only version who contains french voices).

https://we.tl/t-oNzte2reSP

It's should be in the ISO itself. The ISO contains a header and some files like the DUNE.DAT (send you earlier).
It's "Track01.iso".

Can you look into it ? Thanks a lot.

Thanks to theses Mega CD voices, i can convert them to VOC and just include them in the PC Version.
The DRAGON script works great on the PC version (only work on the PC version not the Mega CD)
In the PC Version, i just have to extract the DUNE.DAT (totally different structure) but works with DRAGON script
And replace one by one each VOC files then it's finished ! Almost, because the first cutscenes taken from the film is different.

Indeed the first cutscenes (where a real actress talk, it's a HMN files with VOC bundled into it).
https://wiki.multimedia.cx/index.php/HNM_(1)#Typed_Chunks

It's written :

sd Chunk
Sound data. Contains complete VOC file splitted over several blocks.

Here some HMN examples for you (from the PC version of DUNE) :

https://we.tl/t-An5plTNe2z

Like this with all voices from Mega CD Voices from HMN = Full French Voices on Dune PC.

For the first time, it will be possible to play Dune PC with french voices (we already have french texts ^^).

Just for people who want to see the DUNE.DAT (PC Version) who is already extracted by Dragon BMS Script.

My extracted file :

https://we.tl/t-rsJ6knbXKT

But we are now able to extract any voices with some noices at the correct hz value (22222Hz)

1) Locate ID < Megative Voice File > and select a block size from this ID to < PPPPPPPPPP >

2) Save it to .VOC and modify the ID to < Creative Voice File >

3) I think theses voices are rendered in a .VOC little modified to Mega CD.
Here is example of extraction i made.
