Ok so, the OBB is zlib compressed upon experimentation, it has a header of LPK and filenames too! They are also mentioned in the smali code but I don't have it rn.

I don't think the LPK is for compression, its just an archive file. Some of the files in the archive look odd (namely the model files) but I don't think that's due to compression. There are some files with compression in the archive (with a !ZIP header):
