Hello.

How can I open and edit these .bmp files from Commandos 3 fonts? (attached)

It looks like there is some palette information, but when I edit this file in MS Paint or Gimp the file is saved in a little different way.

The .mask has somehow transparency/opaque pixels/colors information included (maybe that is stored in the palette).

Gimp says it is Indexed color 8 bit sRGB 1 layer image but after any change the game does not accept the new image and the picture is not shown at all (these images are used for font characters).
