I honestly can't see any patterns off the bat, although one file has RIFF and "WAVEfmt 2" at the start. Other then that, I've got nothing.
I'm guessing .res stands for resource. :P From what I can tell there seems to be one for each theme (unrelated to the format, I know =P).
