Is it possible to recompress files to exactly the way they were before they were decompressed?

The problem I'm currently facing is that I decompress a file, edit it, and when I recompress it and put it in the archive, it breaks the game in some way or another. After using the reimport option, the file is identical in size to when it was compressed before, but viewing the contents inside, it slightly changes, which makes it undreadable for the game.

It depends by the file.
Anyway I suppose this is a duplicate of your other topic where I already provided an answer.
