Weird PSP *.GIM File

I'm trying to figure out how this PSP *.GIM file is read or dumped. Using GIMConv, I can somehow "replicate" the file on a near-its-size file but what I'm baffled is that the file info, which should be at the end of the file, is instead in the middle of it, just a few chunks near the beginning. If you try to dump it to png, the resulting png file is significantly smaller than its source gim file. Cutting the file to its file info won't generate an output image, any and all output combinations that I've tried won't replicate the file as it should besides the direct lossless replication that indicates that the formatting is "correct" in some way.

Hoping that somebody could shed some light into how this weird file works.
