Is it possible to work out the obfuscation algorithm by comparing the obfuscated version of a file with the deobfuscated version of the same file?

The obfuscated version is from the Japanese version of Way of the Samurai 2 Special Edition/Samurai Dou 2 Kettouban [SLPM_742.09] for the PS2.
The deobfuscated version is from the Japanese version of Way of the Samurai 2 Portable/Samurai Dou 2 Po-taburu [ULJS-00217] for the PSP.

Both files are the same size, but the PS2 version isn't readable, whereas the PSP version is.
