September 14, 20241 yr There are several python implementations of import/export of models and animations for Blender, but all of them are either for old versions (2.79-2.92), or for new ones but without texture support (or need to visualize differently in Blender 3-4 don't sure). https://xgm.guru/p/wc3/Konvertatsiya-modeley-iz-igry-Heroes-of-Newert-UfY - one of the relatively old guides, but in the comments section one of the implementations with texture support was mentioned - https://github.com/tw1lac/K2-Blender . The version with the texture map fix isn't public, judging by the last comment. https://github.com/KRAT0Sz/K2-Blender-master - newest version of the script. No possibility to contact the author could be found. Interested in: - implementation for Blender 3-4 with texture and animation support. - plugin for Noesis (ideally, with the ability to export not only models but also animations).
September 15, 20241 yr Supporter Well, I wouldn't bet that someone would invest his time without knowing for what it's good for. The project of Vladislav Moskovtsev is about conversion from HoN to Warcraft III. So far so good. There's a blender 2.79b script involved and one from blender 3.4. So then why would we need blender 3.4? Is it because of textures? Or Animations? Or both? Why wouldn't it work using blender 2.79b only? Quote Vladislav: Quote If you have any comments or suggestions that will help improve the quality of the article and supplement it with new methods - write in the comments.
September 16, 20241 yr Author I think its strange what textures could be manually inserted in blender 2.79 only while scripts for newer blender versions isn't allow what. And without textures these scripts is useless in my opinion even if they bug free mostly.
