[Request] Dishonored2 reimport

Featured Replies

I've been trying and failing to reimport edited files into Dishonored 2. Edited file size is equal to original size. Running reimport2_4gb_files.bat works fine but putting the resulting file(s) into the game folder makes the game crash to desktop upon startup.

Currently just as a test I'm trying to replace game1.resources > generated\decls\playerstatefalling\components\characters\player\base\states\falling\playerstatefalling.decl .

Bms script is attached in the zip file.

Any help?

In an archive, it could be a hash checkup. After modifying the file it doesn't match, and the game crashes. But this is just my guess.

That's a good point. Ugh. Hope that's not it.

For testing I tried to reimport an unchanged file (fonts/courier/64_df.dat) into game1.resources, which from my understanding should have resulted in no visible change to the original file since it's just overwriting part of it with the same data, right? But game1.resources did differ to the original afterwards, and of course the game again crashed to desktop when trying to use the edited file.

Have you tried Reimport 1?

I have, it led to the same result: file gets changed, and game won't run with the new file.

I've done the procedure for one of the smaller files, attached is that file.

Exporting and reimporting game3.resource like this and then moving the resulting file to the game folder had the same effect as simply corrupting or removing the game3.resources file entirely - it looks like unlike game1.resource this file isn't technically needed for the game to run as the game will start and load comparatively normally, though in a glitchy state.

edit: this file is from Dishonored Death of the Outsider, same engine etc as Dishonored 2.
