Final Fantasy X-2 PS2 compressed files

Featured Replies

Hello. I have got a hype for Final Fantasy X-2 last night after finding out there is a PV on YouTube of real Emotion which gave me an idea for a custom FMV to replace the opening FMV that plays in FFX-2 on PS2. The problem is, in the ISO the files are compressed and it can't be accessed through normal means, i tried digging further or what but nothing. Does anyone still have tools from PS2Modz Paradise? I really want to make a hack for this game.

Sorry for the late reply, but it is FFX-2 Universal Extractor / Rebuilder from alucard.cc.

Thanks but no-one except for me has been able to access the file so can you make it available? And how did you get the file? i know the site used to have it is down.

edit: the tool you linked me is only meant to extract the data, i need a rebuilder tool.

It's available for all ResHax users.

From AIO Project 2.0.1.

I don't have a rebuilder.

Added support for extracting it in my extractor: https://github.com/smiRaphi/UniPyX

Why should you use mine? because it removes some of the padding according to the values in the LBA table thingy the ISO has which the universal one doesn't and it also tries to guess some file extensions

@NeoGT404 Can you be more specific and explain what exacly did you do?

I see that you're linking to your tool in many topics, but please always try to follow some good practices like:
 - Describe what exactly did you do, link to specific commits if necessary
 - Describe how to use your tool or make it VERY specific in your readme. Right now I can only see one line of explanation.
 - Explain what formats were reverse engineered by you and how did you do it
 - Explain why people should use your tool instead of previous solution. (You explained it in above message, I know)

By the way, what license does your tool have? Is it MIT?

@ikskoks

1. Okay, I'll link the commit in the future.

2. The readme pretty much explains everything, the only 2 options that exist are -os (OnlyScan) and -clean (which deletes all the downloaded files in bin) but those are more for debugging

3. If you mean for the entire tool, there are so many formats at this point (especially small ones from J2ME & Nokia N-Gage games) that I don't really keep track off

4. I only add a comment if I think my tool is doing something better than already existing ones (for example guessing extensions if there are no file names, supporting edge cases or the existing tool(s) being unusable in cmd) but I can be more specific in the future. Also I don't comment if my tool relies completely on an external one because if you just want to extract that one specific format, might as well use that tool directly.

For the licensing, tbh I haven't really looked into that
