Spogs Racing PC version. Any data?

Featured Replies

Okay, I know that this may seem a bit random, and I am not sure if I am in the right section but I am searching for the incredibly obscure and lost PC version of Spogs Racing. It was only ever for sale on Direct2Drive from 2008 to 2010/2011. I have a wayback machine link here (https://web.archive.org/web/20080804062412/http://www.direct2drive.com/6199/product/Buy-SPOGS-Racing-Download).

Now here's the reason I came here specifically. Through some searches I found this archive: http://www.ph33rinc.net/aluigi.altervista.org/papers/detection.cfg

I've asked a few people and apparently it should be some log from QuickBMS. This implies that someone had the game to do it on. I've been told that this forum is the best place to ask about things related to it. Basically my question is if anything can be dug out from it and is there any chance of finding the person who had a copy of it?

A QuickBMS script was made by Luigi himself for the Wii version, which is available on his QuickBMS site.

But this isn't the site to ask about how to obtain copies of games, just how to extract files from them.

No, that log clearly shows that it was for the PC version. I wanted to try and contact Luigi asking about it, but it seems like he disappeared from the internet around 4 years ago.

I know, but I don't really have any other leads to go off.

That .cfg file is a config file for software called gslist written by Luigi - a game server browser.  It's not a QuickBMS script.

Well yeah I think that's what they meant, not a QuickBMS script.

@Endless_Farfalla
Aluigi has a twitter & linkedIn on his site (no clue if he answers stuff there) but your best bet is probably contacting the devs or publisher: https://www.mobygames.com/game/35660/spogs-racing/credits/wii/

His Twitter account is dead. The email on his website is so dead that gmail gave me an automated response from the Mail Delivery Subsystem. The forum he was an admin of is in read only mode now. He disappeared from the internet.

I actually already tried contacting the game's devs but they couldn't remember anything about the PC version.
