Help with WWZ .tpl models (QCViewer not found)

Featured Replies

Hi,

I’m trying to extract models from World War Z (Swarm Engine) and I’ve run into a dead end with .tpl files.

What I’ve tried

  • QCViewer

    • Couldn’t find a working version publicly

    • Older builds either missing or incompatible

Problem

I currently cannot view or export the model at all.
It seems like:

  • Either the WWZ .tpl format differs from newer Saber games

  • Or existing tools are outdated / partially compatible

What I’m looking for

  • A working tool or method to open WWZ .tpl

  • A compatible version of QCViewer (if one still exists)

  • Any info about:

    • vertex layout

    • how .tpl_data is structured

    • how to reconstruct mesh manually if needed

Extra info

  • Header starts with 1SERtpl

  • .tpl_data clearly contains float vertex data

  • Looks like standard interleaved buffers but layout unknown

If anyone has:

  • a working tool

  • a script

  • or even partial documentation

I’d really appreciate it.

Thanks.
