Aliens: Fireteam Elite 2 (2026, UE5) - Need AES key for pakchunk decryption

Featured Replies

Hello,

I'm trying to extract/edit text assets from Aliens: Fireteam Elite 2 (released Aug 25, 2026, developed by Cold Iron Studios, Unreal Engine 5) for the purpose of creating an unofficial Thai localization mod, since the game doesn't officially support Thai.

Game folder structure:

- global.ucas / global.utoc

- pakchunk0-WindowsNoEditor.pak / .ucas / .utoc

- pakchunk1-WindowsNoEditor.pak / .ucas / .utoc

The main pakchunk .pak files are encrypted (FModel reads 0 files without a key), while unrelated system files like CrashReportClient.pak are readable normally, confirming AES encryption is in use on the game data.

I haven't been able to find a published AES key for this specific game (it's a very recent release, only ~5 days old at time of posting). Has anyone found or extracted the key yet, or could someone point me toward the right approach to find it (e.g. memory scanning tools, or if it's simply not cracked yet)?

I'm mainly interested in locating the game's .locres / string table data once unpacked, so I can extract and translate the UI/dialogue text.

Any help or pointers would be greatly appreciated. I can provide sample files (pakchunk headers, etc.) if that helps.

Thanks!

Try this key. It was already shared publicly on CS RIN.
