One game I wanted to look into years ago is Dante's Inferno for PSP. I once tried hex2obj but couldn't figure out the faces and it's been a long time. If anyone can figure these out let me know.

Hi Billy — took a look at this and got somewhere, so sharing where it stands.

It's not one model, it's a container: 882 named objects, and 51 of them are

actual meshes, including two called dante03 and dante04. I could also explain

why hex2obj never worked here — the data that looks like vertex coordinates

isn't, it's the file's own table of offsets.

What I haven't cracked yet is how the vertices themselves are packed. That's

where I could use a hand. Two things would really help:

1. A couple more .PSP files from the game (another character, or the cross /

scythe if they're separate). Comparing similar files gets you further than

staring at one.

2. Whether you can run it in PPSSPP or Jpcsp — Jpcsp can export the scene

straight to .obj, which skips the packing problem entirely.

I'm building a small Windows tool around this either way. Happy to send you a

build when there's something worth looking at.
