Ok, but how to I open that raw image file with GIMP? I still haven't figured out.

File/Open, "Select File Type" "Raw image data"

(model.dan must be renamed to model.dan.data to make it accessible.)

In the "Load Image from Raw Data" window you'll need to vary the width slider to get a valid image.

You cen get the same result (and much more!) with ImageHeat https://github.com/bartlomiejduda/ImageHeat

Thanks for this partial solution. I guess I'm supposed to guess with the right color pattern.
