I can't figure out how to edit the files. It ended up with a ton of 1kb .uasset files and then larger .uexp files with the same name. I did a ton of googling around, trying editors, trying everything I could and I just couldn't find out how to edit them. I found one person who had the same situation as me (1kb .uasset and then larger, matching title'd .uexp files), but I couldn't figure out a solution from the thread (nor do I remember where it is anymore, after googling around for many hours).

EDIT: I managed to get UE Viewer working, but how can I actually edit the files? I can export and view, but that only lets me view any images/textures. What if I want to change, say, some text in the game?

Any help would be great, thank you!

@peupuppy
Reimport mode works in a different way.
You must select the same script, input file (that now will be edited) and output folder (that now will act as input folder) that you selected during extraction, it's exactly the same process.
Everything is explained in section 3 of quickbms.txt and viewtopic.php?p=23032#p23032

Did you have the same error with older versions of quickbms and script?
Does it use an encryption key?

No I haven't had an issue before. I've used QuickBMS before and the earlier iterations of the Unreal Engine 4 script to extract that package without any problems.

I'm assuming it uses the exact same decryption key as Street Fighter V as all of the other 68 "pakchunk##-WindowsNoEditor.pak" archives extract without a problem using the same key.

Here's the sample for you

StreetFighterV_General

The archive itself is over 8GB in size so I know to use the quickbms_4gb_files.exe and not the standard quickbms executable.

The beginning of the archive (whole 2Mb of the sample) is just zeroes.
I don't think any older version of the script or quickbms has ever worked on that specific archive.

Are you sure that archive is 100% correct? It may be corrupted.

*edit*
if you are really sure that the file is correct, modify filecutter.bms setting MEGABYTES to 10 and reuse it to generate bigger samples.

I thought this might come up after uploading the sample as the archive doesn't have data until 0x10700000 so I've cut from there instead.

. Im wondering if you could help please?

I'm encountering problems extracting from the .pak from Dragonball FighterZ.

Im using quickbms_4gb_files.exe [0.8.3] with unreal_tournament_4.bms [0.4.14]. I've uploaded a screenshot of the error.

I also used the filecutter.bms on the .pak and uploaded the two files for you.

Thanks!

When prompted to select a password just press RETURN.

If it still gives an error then upload the big game executable.

Hi Aluigi I tried to add that key (dragon ball z) on unreal_tournament_4.bms but quickbms generates a strange error: Last script line before the error pr that produced the error: 156 getarray key 10 z

Thank you for providing this. I am able to find where the key is within the EXE.
I am trying to use this information to get another encryption key for Sea of Thieves but am unable to decipher it.
I will upload / attach the EXE for you to review if you can.

@marn and everybody else
When you run the script (if you prefer with the -0 option to avoid extracting other files), press RETURN when it asks about the key.
It will show an error like the following
Code:
Info:  algorithm   ?
       offset      11111111
       input size  0x22222222 0
       output size 0x33333333 0
Now create a new text file (a bms script) containing the following line:
Code:
log "sample.dat" 0x11111111 0x22222222
where the 3 hexadecimal number must be replaced with those of your error just like I did with that example.
Then upload sample.dat, copy&paste the input/output size and upload the big game executable (that you already did).

*edit* fixed an error in the post

Hey there,

Since the original poster never replied back, I've done it for him. You can find the sample.dat here along with the new updated exe here: https://vjoeyz.stackstorage.com/s/8ibz7x10V964e7y.
Input size: 0x00000000000007a0 1952
Output size: 0x000000000000223b 8763

I've also already found a few possible aes decryption keys, though they keep giving me the same error message.

Thank you in advance.
