Hulk
Hello, everyone. Is it possible to edit fonts in UPK files? I managed to find tools for extracting the files, but I can't repack them. Based on what I read on forums, it seems that editing UPK files has been impossible. Still, has anyone found a way to do this? I’m attaching Russian fonts and English files where fonts are included. Fonts.zip My problem is that I need Cyrillic letters, but the Russian fonts are missing two letters: Щ and Ъ I would be grateful if anyone could help! Solution WildFatRat Posted January 11 Solution Share Posted January 11 Use UpkExplorer, extract textures, edit them them, by replacing existing characters (you can later adjust the height and width of the character, but I don't know how to add a new one), place the edited texture in the "imports folder" in UpkExplorer working folder, and inject the textures. Thank you! I managed to update the required fonts, but we also need to use the TFC Installer to apply the changes.
WildFatRat
Are you sure? I never needed that in my translations. Injecting the textures into the upk in Upkexplorer was enough. Edited January 11 by WildFatRat

Injecting the textures into the upk in Upkexplorer was enough. I'm not sure, but I downloaded the latest version 2.4.8.0 and followed the instructions: How to create a texture replacement mod Step 1: Within UPK Explorer, click "Open Game Folder" and select your game's install folder. For example, H:\SteamLibrary\steamapps\common\Dishonored. select the base game or DLC you wish to mod, then navigate to the "Extract Textures" tab and extract the textures you desire. Step 2: Navigate to your extracted textures. You will find them in UPK Working Folder. Ex; [UPK Working]\Dishonored\Exports\PF_DXT1. Step 3: Open the DDS files from the Exports\PF_DXT1 folder with your image editor of choice, edit them as desired, then move the textures from Exports\PF_DXT1 to Imports\PF_DXT1. Step 4: Within UPK Explorer, navigate to "Create Texture Pack" you should see your modified textures in the list. Click on "Create Texture Pack" at the bottom. Step 5: With the texture pack created, open TFC Installer, input your game folder and mod folder and click "Update". Step 6: To share your mod with others, all you have to do is zip up your MyMod folder. It is recommended to rename your MyMod folder to something unique beforehand so that it doesn't get overwritten by other mods. I don't see an option to save the modification anywhere. It's possible that this option is available in older versions. If you have any pictures or videos, I would appreciate seeing how you perform the saving after "inject texture". WildFatRat
Do everything according to steps 1-3, and then go to "Inject texture" (red arrow), refresh the list, and then press "inject textures and save a copy". The new file with "_copy" in the filename is the edited one. Edited January 12 by WildFatRat
Hulk
It's different for me and I don't have that option I use "create texture pack" instead
WildFatRat
Don't use "Open game folder". Select "Advanced" in left bottom corner, and choose "Open package file", and select your upk file. I forgot about that. Edited January 12 by WildFatRat
Hulk
Thansk! I see the option now. It turns out that this game has additional subtitles in the UPK files. Any idea how to extract them and edit the UPK? As far as I understand, there are .SoundNodeWave files inside, but I can't find a working tool anywhere that can successfully extract the files. WildFatRat
I know Upkexplorer can edit those too but only works with English, Russian (after switching to Unicode I believe) and Japanese characters and you can edit those only within Upkexplorer - it can't be exported to txt and such. Alternatively, swuforce made couple of tools to edit soundnodewave files for other UE3 games, you can try those (but unpack upk files with upkunpack first - I attached it in my comment) All of their tools can be found here, on this forum. EDIT: Looks like script for Warp works at least for exporting upkpacker_v122.zip Edited January 13 by WildFatRat
