Hello, so I managed to extract the files from the PC version and it works (I used Eksz-Box ABX and it output extensionless files)

Now the problem is the audio files, could someone help please?

I don't think the problem is this but when I drag and drop the RWS archives into Eksz-Box ABX, I got several output files.

Regarding these files you can see "substream" with an Hex Editor and the tool RWS2WAV can convert Asterix & Obelix XXL .rws files PC into wav and for this it doesn't work because it looks like the same structure but several things change...

The "streams" in Madagascar are close to XBOX IMA ADPCM. You can decode them all with vgmtoolbox. But all music in this game is mono. You can hear it when playing game on PC.

Why do you need them? You already ripped all from other platforms.

You must remove paddings (for example with deint.bms), and then create genh as xbox adpcm

Ok, it works, thanks, but what are the exact settings for vgmtoolbox? I used Header Skip 0x00, interleave 0x10, channels 1, freq 22050 but the quality is just bad, I played the game on PC and the sound quality isn't the same.

yes its because its not exactly xbox adpcm, its something a little different. But if you ignore these noises, what do you think, the quality is better that xbox or ps version? I don't think so.

And rip audio DOESN'T degrade if you rip it in digital form.

When I play the game on PC it's FAR BETTER than this quality. It's like 44100Hz. Why?
I think they use some kind of filter but the difference is huge though.

It's not 44100. It is MONO 22050. Just because there's not enough data bytes to have more. But maybe they are using some kind of filter to make it sound better. Anyway, this is the original sound and it is the same on PS, XBOX and PC.

But that's impossible. If you rip any track (mono or stereo) in digital form it will be EXACTLY the same as it was in the game. Just because the game makes its audio right from this data, and nothing else.

The difference is only because 22050 is crap, but old games had to use it. And they tried to make it sound better in the game by different methods.
