Members Hazza12555 Posted November 16 Members Posted November 16 I want to extract from the web browser game Glitch Karts. I first went to developer mode and the networking tab and extracted any data i saw there that was of interest. The biggest file was a .data file (around 180MB) which i'd assume hold's most/if not all of the assets. I confirmed this to be UE4 from the various .js scripts i also downloaded. I have tried with FModel, QuickBMS and UModel all of which couldn't find anything. I know HTML 5 Unreal Engine files are different to the normal .pak's .ucas etc but i can't figure where to start. If anyone could help or has knowledge on this, it would be greatly appreciated! Files (all maybe useful data i could find): https://gofile.io/d/hunaWl
YoungTechJunkie Posted November 17 Posted November 17 No way, I've been trying to do the same exact thing! The file size for that .data file on the server has shrunk, which means that the 182MB .data file we both have contains possibly some type of unused content.

Use the pak.py python script (i uploaded) in the same directory as the .data file This will extract the UE4 .pak file from the .data file Since the version is 4.27, use the QuickBMS 4.27 Unreal Engine Script to extract all data! YoungTechJunkie Posted November 18 Posted November 18 (edited) This is so weird.. there is a WHOLE FULLY CONSTRUCTED OTHER GAME in the file! Called NMKart. From what I've been able to see, it seems awfully dark and grim. All the maps share a dark and grim feel, along with all of the voice acting for the game. I'm gonna use UnrealPak to try to extract the .pak file, rework the NMKart part of the game, and then recompile it. For all I know, since UnrealPak comes with Unreal Engine, it shouldn't miss any files. Oh yeah, I think I'll have to use UModel to extract media files too. Glitch seems to have made a whole game and then tossed it but took the same idea for their current shows, but then just did it under the same project file? Edited November 18 by YoungTechJunkie

YoungTechJunkie Posted November 22 Posted November 22 Guys, I'm pretty sure I know why they made a patch that was just an encryption. I eventually found out that the entirety of NightmareKart's source code was inside Glitch Kart's files. I was absolutely stoked that my favorite indie animation studio has just stolen a game's entire source code to re-skin with. I then left a comment on their most recent post about Glitch Karts asking them why and how they stole the source code of NightmareKart, and if LWMedia and them are even related. Ever since I uploaded that comment, Glitch seemed to panic, and rushed out a few more promos for Glitch Karts to distract their audience. I think the best example of this is the short, "Who are you maining?" because they literally just reused the lines for their first promo for Glitch Karts, and then slapped a basic template on top of it. They're running from me. Infact, they even deleted the 2nd time I asked on another promo they rushed out, the day after I left the first one. The one that really caught me off guard though, was this patch. I ended up finding out myself that all this patch was, was to encrypt the .pak file so that nobody else could get into there with out extreme effort after they realized that I realized and confronted them. The only thing I have left as a form of defense, is to make a YouTube video about it. So, I'll see everybody there. (Hopefully.)

So were you able to do this? karol Posted yesterday at 01:00 AM Posted yesterday at 01:00 AM (edited) I reversed engineered it and found it. https://limewire.com/d/Ciq3w#vtj6pgiUhP here is the link. First upload it to the website server. Secondly, unzip it and move all files away from the glitchkarts.com folder because if you do not move it out it would cause alot of issues. The download would expire in 7 days. Edited yesterday at 01:02 AM by karol
