October 10Oct 10 Could someone help me? I want to extract the textures and models of the motorcycles from "Isle of Man TT 3: Ride of the Edge," as I'd like to try making a mod for the game. The biggest problem is that I can't figure out how to import the P3D files into Blender or 3ds Max. Does anyone know anything about this?
October 10Oct 10 Localization Could you zip and upload 3-4 sample files? Or just one file if they are very large archives.

October 11Oct 11 Localization Looks like a relatively straightforward tagged format. The UVs and some other attributes seem to be stored as quantized integers instead of floats for some reason. I'll try writing a Blender add-on for the format when I have time. Note that exporting custom files is harder than importing them, as exporting usually requires a more or less complete understanding of the format. And this is assuming you already have a way to unpack and repack the archives these files were from, if applicable.

Thank you very much for that. I'll wait for the add-on then, since it seems there isn't one yet. Give me a moment and I'll attach the textures, as they're the ones I found that belong to the vehicles, but I'm not sure because I couldn't see them.

Wednesday at 09:10 PM4 days Localization Sorry for the delay. Here is what I have so far for a Blender 4.2+ add-on. It supports multi-file import, but it can be a bit slow. I'm still working on importing the vertex normals and skin data. Also, note that I may not have covered all of the texture formats, and materials for them are not automatically created. If you get any errors or missing textures/meshes, click Window->Toggle System Console and paste the contents here. Warnings for the last few unimplemented tags are normal. io_tt_isle_of_man-0.1.0-linux_x64.zip io_tt_isle_of_man-0.1.0-macos_arm64.zip io_tt_isle_of_man-0.1.0-windows_x64.zip
Yesterday at 09:14 PM1 day Localization The importer is mostly done in the latest release, though I'm not sure why the normals were stored as 4D vectors. Since I don't have the game installed, could you test it on some more files and confirm that it gives no warnings or errors in the system console (other than the one for the Shad tag)?https://github.com/jmancoder/io-tt-isle-of-man
17 hours ago17 hr Author Yes, I've been testing it, and so far, there don't seem to be any error messages. I've also noticed the common errors you mentioned, and although it's a bit tedious, I'm analyzing them step by step to understand what each one is and where it leads. I still have a lot to learn, but I hope I can do something useful. I also have a question. Regarding the motorcycle texture files, can they be opened with the Blender plugin, or do I need an additional program?

The two PTX texture types you sent should import as Blender images that you can assign in materials, as per the README.Note that for exporting to work, I will likely need to import various fields as custom properties, so don't count on what you import now being exportable later as-is.If you share just the main .exe for the game (I don't need enough files to actually run it), I could try analyzing it to make sure what I have is correct. That would make writing an exporter much simpler.
