spamzilla Posted January 27 Posted January 27 (edited) Does anybody know of the CMP format used by Kirby and the Rainbow Curse? I tried some LZ decompressors and had no luck. I also tried Switch Toolbox and BRRES Viewer and it was the same. Edited January 27 by spamzilla
swiftlie Posted January 27 Posted January 27 You didn't attach a sample file, so it cannot be tested.
Solution ikskoks Posted January 30 Solution Posted January 30 You can decompress data with offzip http://aluigi.altervista.org/mytoolz/offzip.zip offzip.exe -a Balloon.bfres.cmp
spamzilla Posted February 2 Author Posted February 2 Offzip seems to work but all I'm getting are some .FRE files that are unfamiliar to me. In the hex editor, the header is "FRES" and there are some more entries such as "FMDL", "FVTX", and "FSKL"
DKDave Posted February 2 Posted February 2 If you rename the decompressed file to .BFRES it will open in Switch Toolbox: 2
spamzilla Posted February 5 Author Posted February 5 I need to mention that I was able to decompress and examine all the models in the "bg", "character", "deco", and "demo" folders. I ran into a problem though when checking the "map" folder. The first 3 models all crashed Switch Toolbox. There was a generic "unhandled exception" .NET dialog box.
applecuckoo Posted February 15 Posted February 15 Hi - just pointing out that amiibo.bms also works just fine for these files.
