I need some help with the sounds in the 2004 game Malice, the codec used for the the .wavs is "Voxware Byte Aligned" an obsolete and obscure type, some of the sounds from the Xbox version (Malice's grunts/footsteps/attacks) can be read with Audacity and VLC, just with the exception of her dialogue, all of the sounds can't be read on Ps2, how would one go around converting it to a newer codec? Down below I'm linking the sound effects in the "Hammer_Alice" folder (Malice wielding the Clockwork Hammer) as an example, included is the compatible ones as comparison. (rn I'm just looking for guidance on the best way of obtaining these sounds, pin point any ways of doin…

I extracted all the audio folder of greedfall2 and find there is over 20000 .sau files in it.What makes me confuesd is that this game is using wwise engine so I can find .bnk files and wem files(but I`m sure they are just part of the audio files) When I open .sau files with notepad then I find at the head and at the bottom. At first I think that they are just xml files. but many sau files have over 5mb size so I think they do contain real sound files. So can anybody figure out how to play them please? Thanks a lot. here are somemedia.zipsamples

Hi guys. This time I need help with the audio files for the game Aether Gazer. In this game, audio files are files with the *.ys extension, for example, c0d1131953f16e6869505486f6b58d2f.ys, which, according to the AssetHash_Temp.bytes information, contain an *.awb audio file. The problem is, I don't know how to extract the *.awb file from the *.ys file. Can anyone help me with this? I'll post a link to the *.ys file here.

In short, I'm trying to edit the main characters' audio from Japanese to English. The structure is simple: .vag audio files joined together using a program that creates audio banks. I've already obtained the program and learned how it works. In short, they're .bin files with audio banks. Each character has a "bank",three in total, joined into a single .bin file (SE_PLAYER.bin). [Each bank starts with the signature PPHD8 and has a repeating size/range of 0xE000. PPHD8 signatures appear at offsets 0x00000, 0x0E000, and 0x1C000.] [PPPG\ — likely start of sample data or a table of pointers to phoneme blocks.] I'm trying to repeat the process using the PS2…

The first PlatinumGames game for Wii. I wonder how if I simply extract and convert sound files inside of Madworld disc. By instance of drag and putting file into foobar2000 .bin is known used for announcers, in different languages. (Doesn't work) .rsd is used for Wii menu banner when you put in the disc on Wii (Working) .rsp is used for gameplay and events (Working) example.zip

So I've been trying to get voice files from the game, latest version, and for some reason, using QuickBMS script, or FModel will not show or extract the En/Ja/Ko/etc folders for their wem/bnk's, so I'd pretty much like to know WHERE exactly in the media folder is the localization folder/files.

Disneyland Adventures has been my newest favorite game on Steam, and I had thought about extracting the voiced files from the game's files/archive rather than just recording them in-game. The problem is that all of the .bnk files are .aux files, and I think it applies to both the characters and the ride attractions, but they all have [pre] in its name with the audio length of 0:00 instead of its regular audio length. Take Pluto for examples - If I try to rename the file “english_vo_park_pto_int_bnk_b.aux” to a .bnk, and drag it over to Foobar2000 (with VGMStream), it’ll have all the list of voiced lines, but each track has the word [pre] with the audio length of 0:00…

As you can guess, I've been viewing this game's files. The audio, as I've seen, contains Sony's typical AT9 audio files. This type of format can also be found in other video games like Gravity Rush. I don't know if I can post links to other sites here, it would be helpful since I can index the only page I've found about this type of file. Anyway, here's the sample. The ultimate goal is to convert it to AT9 or WAV if someone wants to put in the time. 04_sacrificeed_bgm.7z I will upload the sxd1 file if this post receives support or if anyone needs it for anything. Just reply to this post or send me a message!

I first used Alugi's Skate 3 quickbms script on the .big files in the Audio/English/announcerspeech.big This left me with 406 .DAT files with which i'm unsure how to convert them into playable audio. In the audio folder there are other .big files such as ambience.big which converts to files which work in Foobar but aren't of the .DAT format, only the .BIG files in the english folder. I do have Foobar with VGMStream plugin but this doesn't work either. I've uploaded some samples of the .DAT files extracted and a .BIG file! if anyone could check it out and possibly give me an answer as to how to play them that would be great. https://gofile.io/d/BnP…

I would appreciate it if someone could help me with the .XA files for the game Tenchu 2. Despite being present in the game's sounds folder, none of the three .XA files contained in the folder can be read by any program I try. I'm under the impression that it's encrypted, but the previous game's .XA files weren't, and for all intents and purposes I hope that's not actually the case, if anyone even know why I can't even play the audios or have the time to see why that happens (with better knowledge than me) id be very thankful. Hi all. I am reversing this older codec from Battlefield Bad Company 2 and I remember posts in xentax about a codec like this I dont remember if its SNR SNS or SPS or whatever. But the complete header detail is missing now that the website is down. The first 4 bytes are the signature then: byte - codec version ? (either 0x14 or 0x16) - for the 0x14 version audio blocks are 76 bytes. the other seems to be different byte - mono stereo ? (either 0x00 or 0x04) u16 - sample rate byte - unknown, either 0x40 or 0x44 I know this has been a subject of research back in BF3 days too, can anyone refresh my mind? thanks …

Extracting from High On Life and got the ubulk data of wem audio files from QuickBMS, i converted the UBulk to wem using the quickbms script satisfactory_wwise, and it works sometimes. For example for one character it worked perfectly but for the next character it truncates the audio and only plays .1 of a second of the audio. Anyone know how to fix this and get the audio to it's normal state. I linked some of the UBulk files that don't work ubulk.zip

From what I can gather reading some of these PCSSB files they just seem like a bunch of separate FSB3 archives concatenated together. But an oddity that I noticed is that for each .wav file in a PCSSB file the filename appears twice, in two FSB3 archives that are back to back. The second just seems to be a copy of the first but cut off at an early point. I've attached some sample files so you can see what I mean. Does anyone know why the developers might have done this and what purpose this might have? Only thing I can think of is padding or some sort of alignment thing, but then why not just pad with 0s instead? PCSSB Samples.7z

Hello everybody. I'm completely new to the world of extracting videogame files and recently i've found myself needing to obtain the sound effects from Berserk Musou (Berserk and The Band of the Hawk) and after hours of searching, i've come up completely dry, the "linkdata" (which have .A, .B, .C and .D file extensions) files i managed to unpack using quickbms and the omega force script, however it just gives me a bunch of .dat files that when checked using TrIDScan, all come up as unknown, as opposed to the .dat files in the 'RES' folder of the game, these files do not play when i view them in VLC, the ones in 'RES' are cutscene videos that I can play normally, but thes…

Now, I've been interested in the files of Star Wars: The Old Republic for a long, long time, but there have been precious few, if any, resources, that have actually attached names to the sound files, whether they are weapons, starships, druids, Wookiees, etc. Therefore, I am providing links to the sounds from the 2011 version of the game as well as hashnames to those sounds. https://www.mediafire.com/file/01ucmxqc8gfxnhl/swtor_main_bnk_audiodata_1.zip/file https://www.mediafire.com/file/gan6y6l0n83woao/swtor_main_bnk_audio_1.zip/file https://www.mediafire.com/file/o1j6t6z7dgvu7ob/swtor_main_bnk_location_1.zip/file https://www.mediafire.com/file/rkkh5qm…
